Privacy Policy for Receipt Works

Effective Date: October 25, 2026

Receipt Works is owned and operated by PAC General LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, why, who processes it, and the choices you have.

1. Information you add

• Receipt, deposit, payment, and other document images

• Dates, vendors or payees, amounts, currencies, and exchange rates

• The last digits of card or account numbers, and check numbers

• Spending categories, comments, projects, and workspaces

• Company names and logos

• Text read from scanned documents

2. Account and device information

• Account: your email address, and your name and profile details if you sign in with Google.

• Device: an app-generated install ID, a device identifier, device name, manufacturer, model, operating system version, and app version. These are used to provide the free trial and to apply the 2-device limit of a subscription.

• Subscription status, confirmed with the App Store or Google Play. We never receive your payment card details.

3. How information is used

Only to provide the app's features: organizing and searching records, charts, exports, automatic reading, currency conversion, cloud sync and restore, sign-in, the free trial, and subscriptions. Receipt Works contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking, and we do not sell your data.

4. Processing on your device

Text recognition, photo quality (blur) checks, edge detection, and currency detection run on your device. Your data is also stored on your device so you can use the app offline.

5. AI processing (optional)

If you allow AI processing, the text read from a document — not the image — is sent to our server, which uses OpenAI's API, a third-party AI service, to identify fields such as vendor, amount, date, currency, card or account ending, and check number. The text is not stored on our server after analysis. If you choose No Thanks, documents are read only on your device.

6. Cloud storage, sync, and restore

With a ReceiptWorks Pro subscription you sign in, and your transactions, images, image details, workspaces, company names and logos, and projects are stored in Google Firebase so they can be synced and restored across your devices. During the free trial, records are stored only on your device.

7. Exchange rates

To convert currencies, the app requests exchange rates from the free Frankfurter service (European Central Bank data). Only the two currency codes and the date are sent — never your transactions.

8. Service providers

• Google Firebase — sign-in, database, and file storage

• Google Sign-In — optional sign-in

• OpenAI — AI reading, through our server (only if you allow it)

• Apple App Store / Google Play — purchases and subscriptions

• Frankfurter — exchange rates (no personal data)

Each provider processes data only to deliver its part of the service.

9. Camera and photos

The camera is used only to scan documents you choose to capture. The app only accesses photos you select from your library.

10. Your choices and control

• Edit or delete any record in the app.

• Use the free trial without an account; your data then stays on your device.

• Export your records as PDF or CSV at any time.

• Decline AI processing at any time by choosing No Thanks.

• Delete your account and its cloud data in Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing help@receiptworkspr.com.

11. Data retention

Cloud data is kept while your account has an active ReceiptWorks Pro subscription. If your subscription ends, you can still view and export your records for 60 days; we email you when it ends and 7 days before deletion. After 60 days, your account and its cloud data are permanently deleted unless you subscribe again. Records stored on your device are not affected.

When you delete your account, its cloud data is deleted right away. Limited information may be kept temporarily where needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or backup recovery.

12. Data accuracy

Automatic reading, currency detection, and exchange rates may not always be accurate. Review your information before relying on it for accounting, reporting, legal, tax, or financial decisions.

13. Security

Receipt Works uses reasonable measures to protect your data. Data is sent to cloud and processing services over secure (encrypted) connections.

14. Children

Receipt Works is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as features change. The effective date above shows the latest version; continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
